After Chelsea manager Frank Lampard sacked today, Roman Abramovich’s owner revealed that Lampard’s status as one of the Chelsea legend remains undiminished despite that he was sack.
Abramovich thanked the Chelsea manager Frank Lampard for his great work at Stamford Bridge over the last two years, a statement released via its official website.
Lampard’s contract ended on Monday, as the club sacked him. Though he guided the club to a fourth-place last season, problems were raised as he could not build on that in the first months of the 2020/2021 campaign.
The Premier League table’s blue position is eight and lost five of their last eight games. Frank Lampard’s last fixture was a 3-1 win over Luton Town in the FA Cup on Sunday.
Abramovich said Lampard is an essential icon of this great club and his status here remains undiminished. On behalf of everyone at the club, i would like to thank Frank for his great work as head coach and wish him success in the future.
Lampard will always be welcomed back at the Stamford Bridge anytime, he added.
Since Lampard has been sacked, Chelsea’s main target is the former Paris Saint-Germain manager, Thomas Tuchel, to replace Frank Lampard.
