A statement was released via Canada Website health regulator on Wednesday, as the country become the second after UK to approve the coronavirus vaccine.
The Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine was hereby approved after a two month independent review on safety and efficacy, the statement says.
Presently, Canada should be in a good form and confident that the review of the coronavirus vaccine was thoroughly done and that we equally have strong monitoring systems in place.
However, the Health Canada and the Public Health Agency of Canada will have to monitor the safety of the coronavirus vaccine once it is on market.
But, also said they will not hesitate to take further action if any safety concerns are been issued.
The Statement said; The Vaccine was only approved for Canadians above the age of 16 for now, but could be recommended later to include children once more data is been released from its the ongoing clinical trials.
Justin Trudeau, the Canadian Prime Minister, said on Monday that Canada would get up to 249,000 doses of the vaccine before the end of December, and by March 2021, 4 million doses of the coronavirus vaccine are expected.
