The Nigeria Minister of Health, Osagie Ehanire, report on Thursday during Presidential Task Force on Covid-19, that the vaccine for the deadly virus known as coronavirus would be available by 2021.
During the briefing, he said the vaccine will not be available to this year till next year, since no therapeutics has been confirmed so far, our country must restart businesses and allow other things.
But we have to sting with the rules about the coronavirus so we can be safe from the virus…
While the Minister also appealed to JOHESU to shelve their strike so things can be in order.
“I also use this opportunity to renew my calls to members of the Joint Health Sector Union (JOHESU) to put the plight, safety and well-being of their patients into consideration and to call off the ongoing strike while the differences are being addressed by negotiations.
He added that, it is very important to remind ourselves that coronavirus is real and spreading in some parts of the world.
We can’t rely now because. “it is risky to believe that it is going away even though it looks as if the figures are reducing here. Some countries are experiencing the so-called second waves with all the complications that go along with this easily spreading disease.”
Nigerian government received vaccines sample of Covid-19 from Russia on September 4, through its ambassador, Alexey Shebarshin.
