After the United State election ended, as Trump refused to concede with the result of the voting, but the U.S General Services Administration, GSA has finally recognized Democratic Party candidate, Joe Biden as the apparent winner of the Presidential election.
This developing came up following weeks of inaction, and the agency made the acknowledgment on Monday.
Presently, a formal transition process has begun as they will give Biden and his team access to current agency officials, like government resources, briefing books and some others things, including some $6 million in funding.
However, all this happened after about nine Republican Senators sent a letter for a transition process to begun, and hours that Michigan’s Board of State Canvassers had voted to certify the election’s results.
The GSA chief, Emily Murphy said in a letter to Joe Biden on Monday, “Because of recent developments involving legal challenges and certifications of election results, I have determined that you may access the post-election resources and services described in Section 3 of the Act upon request.”
Executive Director of Biden-Harris transition, Yohannes Abraham reacted to the announcement and said, it “is a “needed step” to “getting the pandemic under control and our economy back on track.
Now, the transition officials will begin meeting with federal officials to discuss the Covid-19 pandemic response in the days ahead.
