Anthony Joshua has voiced out and support for Nigerian protesters and Manchester United striker Odion Ighalo, said he’s “ashamed” of his country’s government after reports that anti-police demonstrators were fired upon in Lagos.
While the sporadic shooting took place on Tuesday night caused an unknown number of deaths and injuries.
This has led to sparked global outrage, as protesters stayed on the streets Wednesday, breaking the government curfew.
“The situation has escalated, the violence and killings are horrendous,” Joshua wrote on Twitter early Wednesday. “All because of people saying they want to live in peace?”
“Change will happen! It’s time,” he said.
The Manchester United striker Ighalo post a video message late Tuesday after United’s 2-1 win over Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League.
