According to the latest reports, the Osun State Government has declared a 24-hour curfew in Irepodun and Orolu Local Government Areas of the State due to the crisis that broke out between Ilobu and Erin-Osun communities on Saturday.
Two people have been killed, and several others have been injured during the GISTHUBCITY report.
It added that houses and some other properties were also demolished in the violence between the two communities.
However, reports claimed that Governor Gboyega Oyetola ordered Army and armed police deployment to restore peace.
A statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Prince Wole Oyebamiji, revealed that the curfew became mandatory to douse tension in the crisis.
As a responsive and responsible government that took the sacred oath to guide and protect our citizens’ citizens and property, we believe that the 24-hour curfew is the best way in this kind of circumstance.
Security operatives have been directed to arrest and prosecute any person found violating the curfew and anyone responsible for the violence.
