According to reports, the fuel scarcity in Nigeria has bring so many problem for oil workers as they strike.
The petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN) strike nationwide on Monday.
However, the cause of the strike is due to fuel scarcity in the country as a whole as PENGASSAN has stopped its supply to 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
Festus Osifo, the Union Leader said they joined the strike because the government had refused to meet the demands of oil and gas sector in the country.
He said: “Today (Monday), PENGASSAN has declared a strike. Our members are sitting at home and we will continually watch the situation and if we need to rev it up, we will definitely rev it up,”
Osifo added that, the union had given the government a seven-day which means the deadline last Monday on their demands.
Festus Osifo also said that the Federal Government’s Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System (IPPIS) was part of the reason for the strike.
