Osun State reported 120 new infections cases daily on Tuesday, as it is the highest ever number of daily confirmed cases.
It was revealed that this is the first time Osun State has recorded a higher figure in a day since the pandemic started in March 2020.
And it is the second time in about four days that it is reporting the daily highest infection, with 98 cases on Saturday, February 6.
Also, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC reported the 120 cases as part of their daily routine update.
Osun State is the second to Lagos, with 214 reported cases for the day; out of the country’s figure, 1,056 new infections were reported from 22 states.
The tally of the 20 other states includes FCT (116), Plateau (88), Ebonyi (75), Kwara (73), Gombe (70), Ondo (57), Rivers (47), Akwa Ibom (38), Edo (25), Oyo (23), Kano (22), Delta (19) Katsina (18), Borno (16), Nasarawa (13), Ekiti (8), Ogun (8), Bauchi (4), Benue(1) and Jigawa (1).
141447 cases have been confirmed, 115755 patients have been discharged, and 1694 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
