Many farmers killed in Borno and the number that was reports is 43, but the leader of the Boko Haram, Abubakar Shekau on Tuesday divulge that the group killed 78 farmers in Borno and not 43, which means means the first reports is not accurate.
The dreaded Islamic sect, Boko Haram attacked the farmers who were harvesting rice at Zabarmari community, in Jere Local Government Area of Borno State.
The attacked occurred during weekend and 40 deaths were earlier reported and Governor Babagana Zulum told journalists that 43 farmers were killed.
But, a video was released by Shekau on Tuesday boasted about the killing, and the Boko Haram leader said they killed about 78 farmers.
The cause of the killing is due to Shekau accused the farmers of handing over their members to the Nigerian army.
Shekau warned that the killing will continue if those in the habit of sharing intelligence on the sect’s activities with the military will also face the same fate.
