Christmas carol is the normal celebration that usually organized every years by churches, but since the coronavirus pandemic is raging across the world, the Presidential Task Force (PTF) on Covid-19 warned Nigerians not to hold any Christmas carol this year.
The Director General of the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), Chikwe Ihekweazu, made this clear during the weekly briefing of the task force in Abuja on Monday for safety.
Holding Christmas carols, travels and other gathering during this festive season could be dangerous and out to be super spreaders of the Covid-19, Ihekweazu said.
We have been getting reports lately concerning the people not following the coronavirus protocol any longer, no social distance, no wearing of face-mask again and washing hand regularly.
For this reason, we have to be careful and take this into consideration as we make our choices.
New coronavirus cases recorded on Monday night with 145 infection in the country. While the total number of the coronavirus in Nigeria is 67,557 infection.
