According to report, Nigerian soldiers opened fire to the protesters yesterday in Lekki toll gate, but now Nigerian Army has denied the reports making the rounds that it shot at #EndSARS protesters using live bullets at the Lekki toll gate on Tuesday night.
So many people got injured and while an unspecified number of people are believed to have been killed from the massacre.
It was disclosed that they were in uniform, because videos had emerged online showing men in military uniform shooting at the protesters at Lekki toll gate plaza in the night.
When the protesters saw those men in military uniforms approaching, they told themselves to sit on ground but they fired them.
But the Nigerian Army denied the report of involvement on its official Twitter page on Wednesday morning where it described the incident reported on various new mediums as ‘fake news’.
In the statement on Twitter, the Nigerian Army said its soldiers were not at the scene of the incident.
An eyewitness told journalists that the protesters were sitting on the floor when the soldiers arrived in the area and started shooting sporadically.
